This sounds very interesting, and I'd be happy to hear your take on how I should be proceeding next. I built 2 social fitness apps that are both live on app and google stores, the apps technically and visually are very pleasing and professional-grade, they were built by AI but reviewed and enhanced by human developers I hired after the fact.
walkwithme.fit is an app that allows you to go for a walk and let others join you, you can also pull the app up and join a walk if you so wish, with great emphasis on the social aspect of the app, it comes with a steps tracker, route tracker, and paths finder as well.
workoutwithme.fit is another social fitness app that allows guys who go to the same gym to link up and work out together, again, the social aspect of the app is heavily emphasized, but it is also powered by my own proprietary fitness engine that recommends workouts and exercises based on your recovery status. The app is literally packed with features, there's always a reason for you to open it up. You can consult the website to find out more.
I feel like both apps accomplish and resolve a very clear problem: social fitness, working out and walking could be solo experiences and I do not deny that some people wish to be left alone when doing in particular these 2 things, but both apps can easily be commercialized to smaller businesses (think touring agencies, gyms, and fitness coaches) and the upside potential is big.
But my problem: they're both social apps, inherently, they're useless if no one is on them in the first place, value is created with more people using it; although this is mitigated by the variety of functionalities in them both, especially workout with me, but the core experience and function are social and require people. To put this more into perspective, imagine signing up to Facebook and there's 0 users, would you stay? No, you'd leave.
My strategy was to market the non-social features and convince people these are good apps (more applicable to workout with me than walk with me), but I'm failing miserably, Walk With Me has like 30 installs on Android and 40 on iPhone, all from different cities and countries, and Workout With Me was lunched 2 weeks ago and has 0 users practically, no one is downloading or checking the app.
