I've been writing every single script for my channel by hand for a while now, and honestly, it's starting to wear me down. the research, the structure, the endless tweaking of hooks to keep that retention curve flat - it's a lot. lately I've been poking around at AI tools to see if they can take some of the weight off.
curious how other creators feel about this. Do you actually use AI for scripting or research? And if yes, does it genuinely speed things up or just add another layer of friction? i'm trying to figure out if building a workflow around this is smart or if it's all hype.
From what I've seen, Claude custom skills can be killer for certain tasks. i've got one set up for blog outlines and another for Substack with images. but the real sweet spot seems to be keeping AI away from the final voice - use it to turn rough notes into a structure, find gaps in a script, or spit out ten different angle ideas. The moment you ask it to write the whole thing, you spend an hour stripping out that generic, robotic rhythm.
if I were building a tool around this, I'd focus on the messy middle: research, structure, examples, and helping you figure out what the hell you're actually trying to say before you even touch the polished script.
