We've hit "inbox inflation" on personalisation. Everyone's running the same playbook - {saw your post on LinkedIn} + {one semi-specific observation}. It doesn't stand out anymore. just moves you from "spam" to "not instantly deleted."
The biggest wins I've had? All came from dumb-simple messages triggered on clear intent or change signals. "You just raised. You're hiring X. Your stack doesn't have Y." Or that tool expiry / contract renewal window you mentioned. Copy was average. Not genius. But the open → reply → booked rate? Way higher.
feels like the new stack is:
Get timing + intent right → be clearly relevant → then worry about sounding clever.
Personalisation still helps. But it amplifies timing. Doesn't replace it.
