I sell tech services to Shopify stores and DTC brands pulling in $1-5m a year. My funnel: cold emails after checking their stats on SimilarWeb β when they reply, I send a 3-4 min Loom showing their problems β then try to book a meeting. Using the Challenger Sales approach.
After 300 cold emails, I've booked 7 Loom views and 2 direct meetings (9 total). Emails are hyper-targeted - only 20 new prospects a day.
The problem? People watch the Loom and vanish. Even prospects who were replying quickly before the Loom go silent afterwards. The two clients that booked meetings directly (without the Loom) both converted.
In the Loom I show them their problems but not the solution - I end on a cliffhanger and ask them to email or book a meeting to see the fix. In the meeting, I go through problems, insights, then solution. So the Loom is basically the first 25% of the deck.
How do I fix this? I'm considering two options:
- Change the email CTA from a Loom to an infographic that gives similar insights showing the problem, no voiceover. Then push for a meeting.
- Go straight to "book a meeting" as the CTA. Worried the response rate will tank.
Anyone else hit this wall? The cliffhanger approach might be backfiring - making people feel like I'm holding back info instead of being curious. What's worked for you?
