I've been tracking this closely, and honestly, plain cold email is getting diminishing returns now. I've started calling my process 'AI Omnichannel Outreach' - it piques curiosity far more than just 'outreach'. You need to be everywhere (email, LinkedIn, etc.) to break through the noise.
From what I'm seeing, the folks still winning on email alone have completely abandoned mass blasting. They run ultra-segmented, highly personalised campaigns - 20-30 hyper-targeted leads a day instead of 500. If your data is pristine and your offer is painfully relevant, email can still work, but the margin for error is razor thin with stricter spam filters and inbox fatigue.
The real power is 'surround sound'. When a prospect sees your name on LinkedIn (maybe you viewed their profile or commented), then gets a tailored cold email, then sees a relevant tweet, it stops feeling like a cold pitch. It feels like a familiar connection.
AI makes this scalable. Without it, tracking a prospect across three platforms was too manual. Now lean teams compete with massive sales departments by coordinating data and personalisation across channels.
I'm curious - what does your current sequence look like? Are you leading with LinkedIn engagement first, or hitting the inbox and using socials as backup? For me, volume still matters, but manual multi-channel is time-consuming. How do you approach it? Scripts, SaaS, or pure manual grind?
