Started managing a DBT therapist's Google Ads account after the previous guy got fired for charging $220 per lead - mostly unqualified crap. Cleaned house: killed all broad match keywords (they were pulling in competitor names and Spanish queries), switched to phrase match, added a hefty negative keyword list. Daily budget is $40 with max conversions, no target CPA. Result? Zero clicks. Nothing. Nada.
Checked for keyword conflicts, made sure negatives aren't blocking what I want. Ads are in health vertical so I'm treading carefully on copy to avoid disapprovals. But I'm thinking the real issue is bid floor - healthcare keywords ain't cheap. Google's algorithm sees my low bids and gives me no impressions.
Anyone dealt with this? Should I raise bids manually or switch to a different bidding strategy? Or is my negative list just too aggressive? Need to get some traffic without burning budget on garbage searches.
