Totally agree with separating the value of FAQs from FAQ schema. The visible content is still solid for pulling clear answers to natural-language queries - that part hasn't changed. 💡
But yeah, the schema layer? Not the magic bullet it used to be. Google's pulled back on displaying FAQ rich results for so many queries that relying on markup alone feels like chasing yesterday's game.
For voice and AI search I'm leaning way more on:
- 🎯 Intent-first content - what's the actual question behind the question?
- ✅ Answer clarity - keep it concise, extractable, and scannable
- 🗺️ Local or commercial usefulness - if someone's asking near me or "buy now", serve that up naturally
Markup is a nice to have, not the strategy.
