About 2.5 months ago I launched a new site and signed up to Search Console straight away. First two weeks were fantastic - over 1,000 impressions per day. Then it tanked overnight to 100. Nothing changed on my end.

Google indexed a few more pages, impressions crept back to 200 for a single day, then kept falling. Now it's not just stopping indexing - it's actively removing pages. The statuses are either "Discovered - currently not indexed" or "Crawled - currently not indexed." Content's been improved across the board, no URL changes, but Google's ghosting me.

If you launched a new site and google started rotating your pages - nice in a new domain if it does that and then you see your position dro - that’s normal

Firstly I think that’s pretty obvious you might be looking at SEO like how content is tested in TikTok or other engines but what you’re not looking at is your content from a keyword perspective and a rank position pov

Generally speaking eveything that ranks on page 1 earns an impression for each time a keyword is watched but mostly only the top 3 positions get clicks

The only way - generally speaking to increase clicks is to rank higher

During CTR testing when Google artificially boosts your pages to give it a shot to see if it’s amazing it expects record breaking CTR and if it doesn’t we that it drops you

But also - because you said it’s topped indexing your content - I’m assuming you’ve started doing SEO without learning about authority

Authority is how Google tracks a pages earned performance . This used to largely mean the combined value of backlinks from other sites but really means both

If you haven’t either then your site has not authorty and therefore it’s pointless from googles pov to add you to indexes where you just won’t rank and ergo won’t get clicks

The thing is that the web is vast and very topic is covered - there are 358milllion results for urgent care

When you create content it’s not shared with peole who are q in that topic - it’s ranked against other existing page’sand is served only when the user asks for that particular topic

a few things I'd dig into first:

Were those early impressions real rankings or just testing? New sites often get a short trial period where Google tests pages, then pulls back hard.
Look at the query/page pairs in GSC. If impressions came from broad/irrelevant queries, the drop might just mean Google stopped testing the wrong audience.
Check whether the deindexed pages are actually unique. "Improved content" doesn't always mean index-worthy content. If lots of pages follow the same template with slight wording changes, Google treats them as low-value duplicates.
Internal links matter more than you'd think. If important pages are only linked from a sitemap or weak category pages, they'll get discovered but never prioritised. Make sure your best content is linked from the homepage or strong hub pages.
Index bloat is real. if Google discovers loads of pages and most are weak, it reduces trust and crawl interest across the whole site. i'd noindex or remove anything thin, tag-like, duplicate, or not meant to rank.
