Honestly, after a year of chasing pixel-perfect dashboards that looked beautiful in screenshots but broke the second we added a new ad account, I've come to the same conclusion. Connector reliability is everything.
We've burned through three "fancy" tools that promised real-time syncing but kept dropping Meta data at 2am on a Monday. When you're trying to explain a sudden ROAS dip to a client and the numbers are three days old because the connector farted out, the prettiest chart in the world is useless.
Now I'd rather use something that looks like a spreadsheet but actually pulls in cost, impressions, and CPMs without me having to babysit the integration every week. The creative side of my brain wants beautiful visual hierarchies, but the left-brain metrics part knows garbage connectors wreck trust way faster than ugly graphs.
So yeah - connector reliability, then maybe a bit of design polish on top. Not the other way around.
