I think the comments about retention are spot on, especially with AI coding tools. A lot of people test these platforms for a month, then bounce if it doesn’t become part of their actual workflow.

But I think there’s another layer to consider: The ideal affiliates!
For a tool like this, the best affiliates probably aren’t generic “affiliate marketers” looking for recurring commissions. They’re people who already have an audience around AI coding tools, indie development, vibe coding, no-code/low-code, SaaS building, or developer productivity.
That kind of audience fit matters more than just the commission percentage.
A random affiliate may like the 20% lifetime payout, but the better partner is someone who can actually explain the product, compare it to tools like Cursor, Lovable, Base44, etc., and put it in front of people already looking for that kind of solution.
