Lead sourcing for local wellness - what's actually working?

I'm running cold email out of Smartlead for chiropractors, naturopaths, IV clinics, functional medicine types. Offer is booking more appointments for them.

Sent roughly 420 emails, got 3 replies. one 'stop', one from a company selling aloe vera who got my email by mistake, and an auto-responder from a hospital chiropractic department. Zero real responses. List quality is the main headache.

Tried Outscraper - absolute shambles. one reply literally came from an aloe vera company. contaminated trash.

Checked out Consulti.ai after seeing Lead Gen Jay hype it up. before shelling out $97/mo I dug into their data. they showed only about 15k chiropractors in the whole US. Real number is closer to 70-80k licensed DCs. That database would be dry in a week.

Apollo is overkill for my budget right now. i'm open to Claude Code or any workflow that actually surfaces owner-level emails.

What are people using in 2026 for clean local business lead data? specifically service businesses where the owner is the practitioner. Real workflows, not tool pitches.

For context, someone mentioned Prospeo but when I checked Arizona and Colorado it gave me like 40 chiropractors per state with verified emails. That's nowhere near enough.

For local wellness, I wouldn't rely ongeneric b2b databases. Google Maps + niche direcories + licensing databases usually work better, then verify/enrichemails after. I tried Prospeo for a similar niche (local wellness content creators, not chiros specifically) and it was giving me numbers that looked more like a typo than a database. Forty verified emails for an entire state? That's not a lead gen tool, that's a very expensive party trick.

You're spot on about Colorado and Arizona. They're either ghost towns in these tools or stuffed with irrelevant contacts. Apollo would be a sledgehammer for a nail here. Honestly, I've had better luck scraping Google Maps manually and enriching with a cheap email finder. Not glamorous, but at least you get actual humans.
