I've been blogging for about a year now, but I'm not one of those people who grinds all day. I only post around three times a month because I've also got studying to do - it's always been more of a side thing.
Thing is, from around early April my blog started picking up. Nothing amazing, but I was getting 5-10 visitors a day, the organic audience was growing, and one GPU review I wrote even hit the number one spot in Google search.
Then this week - on the 19th - my domain and hosting expired. I need about $55 to renew, and I just don't have the money right now.
So my main question is: how long will it take for real damage to happen to my blog and SEO if I can't pay? I'm trying to figure something out, but honestly... is it even worth spending the money to carry on?
Tech niche, by the way. And sorry if my English isn't great - it's not my first language - but please do give me your thoughts 🙏🙏
From what a colleague told me, once a domain goes dark, Google de-indexes you pretty fast - within a week or two. I also heard you could sell links from your site through a service to cover costs if you enjoy doing it. But only you can decide if it's worth it. Maybe consistency is the key - more posts, more audience reach. Hope that helps.
