I was in almost the exact same situation as you! My first time around, I couldn't make a single sale and got booted.
First, to answer your question: Do not send links to your friends and family. Amazon's Operating Agreement explicitly forbids using friends and family to get qualifying purchases. Their algorithm is incredibly smart and can often track connections (IP addresses, shared shipping histories, social media, etc.). Even if they don't live with you, it's highly likely Amazon will flag those sales, invalidate them, and ban your account for good. Plus, bugging friends isn't a sustainable long-term business strategy.
Here is what actually worked for me when I got serious the second time around:
Instead of looking for shortcuts, I focused entirely on organic search traffic (SEO). I sat down and wrote one really comprehensive, high-quality blog post focused entirely on microwave ovens. I made sure it actually answered searchers' questions and provided value.
Because the content was genuinely helpful, that single post ended up ranking in the top 5 on Google search results. After seeing that success, I wrote just 2 more targeted posts. Within two months of doing that, I brought in around 120 sales!
My advice:
Stop worrying about getting 3 quick sales from people you know. Focus on a specific niche, find low-competition keywords, and write the absolute best piece of content on the internet for that specific query. If you can get real organic traffic from Google, those 3 qualifying sales will happen on autopilot, and you'll actually be building a real asset.
Stick with it, write good content, and the sales will follow! Good luck.
I am sharing my post url so that you can get some ideas.
