Oh, I love marketing... but I hate working in marketing right now. How is it possible that funnels which used to crank out over thirty thousand orders with a solid 6 or 7% conversion rate-hell, even touching 8%-are now sitting at a pathetic point four five percent? I'm not a mathematician, but that's a nosedive that would make a skydiver blush.
And the math gets worse. They're sending me a thousand visitors a day for just eighty bucks. My CPM is around eighty cents to a dollar thirty, when it used to be four or five bucks. So either I've discovered the secret to hyper-efficient traffic, or Meta is serving me the digital equivalent of junk mail.
It's been a whole month. A full month of 'learning.' What exactly is still being learnt? Advanced algebra? Because it's failing basic arithmetic. Everything's optimised for sales, but the garbage traffic keeps coming. And bid caps? Forget it. Meta spends whatever it wants, whenever it wants. No respect.
A colleague mentioned their ultra-performing campaign just went back into learning and tanked. Another said the last three days were brutal-I'm not surprised. I used to have some sense of stability, but now it's all broken.
Here's the kicker: I own Meta stock because I thought it was a solid bet. Now I'm seriously thinking of selling those shares too. If this is what they're spending a hundred and fifty billion dollars on AI for this year... no thanks. Garbage.
