Honestly, I was surprised to hit $1k in a single month from a small pet blog. I bought it a few months ago from a marketplace for about $200 - it had some content and a little existing traffic, nothing special. Almost passed on it because it seemed too cheap to be real. Kept most of the original content and swapped the Amazon affiliate tag to mine.
Here's where April landed:
πΎ Amazon commissions: ~$650
πΎ Creator Rewards bonus: ~$375
πΎ Total for April: just over $1,020
First time I've broken four figures in a calendar month. Genuinely didn't expect it to happen this quickly.
The Creator Rewards bonus seems to be based on shipping revenue from referred sales - I don't fully get the formula, but I fell just short of one milestone and still got nearly $400. Not complaining.
Commissions were up compared to March ($650 vs about $550 the month before). The bonus was lower this time, but the total crossed the threshold I'd been watching for.
π Running totals:
β’ Paid for the site: ~$200
β’ Total earned to date: $1,500+
β’ Net profit so far: $1,300+
Bought a second site this week - same niche, similar profile. Curious if April was a fluke or if this is repeatable. Will share an update either way.
No paid traffic here - all organic search so far. The cost of acquisition has been basically zero beyond the initial site purchase and a bit of my time.
