I run an affiliate programme for a B2B SaaS product. My affiliates fall into three clear groups:
Group 1 - The Active Ones (roughly ten of them): Consistently sending clicks. I want to keep them motivated and build a relationship beyond transactions. What do you do for your top affiliates-early access to features, higher commissions, or a private Slack group?
Group 2 - The One-Hit Wonders: Came in strong, drove decent clicks early on, then vanished. The potential is obviously there. Personal outreach seems key-not a guilt-trip email, but something like "here are new creatives" or "feature X makes selling easier for your audience." Social proof works too: showing a concrete example of another affiliate who made $800 last month from a similar traffic source.
Group 3 - The Ghosts: Signed up, never sent a single click, total radio silence. I'm leaning toward ignoring them unless I have spare time. Most were just curious or collecting programmes they never planned to promote.
One experienced affiliate told me they value affiliate managers who ask what they need-not just push deals. Weekly check-ins, a photo in the signature, and offering commission increases (with clear justification) go a long way.
What's actually worked for you in SaaS, especially for reigniting those one-hit wonders?
