Our blogs are doing decently well in English, so I've been thinking about testing the same content in a few other languages. The rough plan: take pages already getting traffic (maybe 10), translate them using AI (no human translator - just Spanish and German to start), get a native speaker to proofread, then publish under language-specific URLs. Has anyone here given this a go? Competition in other languages is obviously low, but someone pointed out that might be because ad revenue in those regions is crap. Another person said they doubled their French blog traffic by translating top pages into English - interesting twist. This morning I checked Bing's webmaster console and saw over 8,000 AI quote citations in the last 50 days, all from English queries, so it's probably from my translated content. Problem is, users stay on the LLM and never browse the site - so what's the point? Also, for those who've tried: did you go full AI translation or something else?
