every time i research email tools for a small team, i hit the same two names. stuck in a loop.
current situation: 3-person team. list around 6,000. one campaign a week plus a couple of automations. mailchimp's per-contact billing climbs fast. You're paying for people who already unsubscribed. Feels insane.
Brevo comes up as the cheaper per-send option. then the comparison just stops. like those are the only two that exist.
i keep wondering what people who do this daily actually reach for. a colleague told me to look past Brevo vs Mailchimp entirely. look at the DB-connected ones like Dreamlit. that turned my question into Dreamlit vs Brevo for a small team like ours.
does the 'reads your database directly' approach actually save time? or is it just another dashboard to learn?
past those names, what email marketing platforms for small teams have you genuinely stuck with? more importantly, what made you switch? i'm less interested in feature checklists. More in which tools saved you time once you were inside them, vs which looked easy in the demo and then ate your Tuesday.
what's your stack? and which one would you never go back to?
