Omnicom job - run or stay?

So I applied for a manager video activation role at one of their media agencies, and now I'm seeing non-stop chatter about Omnicom layoffs. Someone even said they got let go a month after starting. Benefits supposedly awful too. But specifically for IPG Mediabrands - is it any different? I know IPG isn't really a thing anymore, but still. If I get the offer, do I take it or steer clear of anything Omnicom touches? One person put it bluntly: avoid them unless you're unemployed and about to be homeless. That's rough. Any real advice? Honestly, this is spot on. Had a mate who took a role there and it was exactly like this. Benefits are genuinely f*cked, especially the insurance. PTO is laughable. And yeah, they dangle those half-day Fridays in summer but you better still hit your 40 hours across those 4.5 days - it's not a perk, it's a trap. If you're desperate, sure, take it for the CV. But if you've got any other option, run. Not worth the mental toll.

I'd steer well clear of OmniCom post-merger. A former agency of mine saw at least a dozen people walk out because of the benefit and structure changes. Workloads are getting squeezed beyond belief.

i've had the misfortune of working with Omnicom agencies on mobile UA. avoid them unless you've got absolutely nothing else lined up. The performance data was a mess. RIP IPG indeed

If you're desperate for a job, sure - but only if you're okay running a flow with zero personalisation and high churn. I came in through the Mediabrands acquisition myself, and the whole onboarding journey felt like a poorly segmented batch send. The Omnicom environment is sterile - no creative triggers, no delight moments. Benefit nodes are buried under so many conditional branches they might as well be black-box logic. Tight with budgets, tight with flexibility. It's a retention nightmare dressed as a holding company.

Totally feel you. i'm a senior associate at another agency, four years in, and honestly? that manager title feels like it's just dangling there, just out of reach. the grind is real
