Boss wants to kill footer and top nav - SEO impact?

I'm in retention marketing, so I live and breathe conversion data. My boss hired a consultant who wants to rip out the footer and simplify the top nav for a cleaner look. I'm convinced this will hurt rankings, but he's all about aesthetics.

Here's my reasoning:

Footers provide consistent internal links across all pages. Removing them kills that link equity distribution.
Top nav is essential for crawlability. If Google can't find pages, they don't index.
I've seen sites lose 10-20% organic traffic within months after similar 'design improvements'.

I'm trying to convince him with data - foot traffic on footer links, internal link counts, etc. Does anyone have case studies or a better approach?
