I did the same thing. Cut Meta ads completely about three weeks ago. Been running ads since the Power Editor days-literally never had a single day in nearly a decade where all campaigns on Zuck's network were paused. Until now.
The lack of transparency is a joke. The forced AI garbage is self-destructive and completely unpredictable. We had to look elsewhere.
More work to manage, but at least results make sense.
April was a disaster-results nearly halved across nine different accounts. by May, every single Meta campaign was negative across North America, Europe, and South America, in completely different industries.
Switched to Google and TikTok, plus a few retargeting networks. Based on projections, we should break even by early June and see a decent ROAS between 1.5 and 1.9 for the rest of the month.
Different platforms, harder to run, but Google gives predictability. TikTok actually surprised me.
If I can avoid it, I'm never going back to Meta. the hardest part was having the guts to walk away from something I'd gotten used to and convincing the people around me it was the right call. so yeah, I get the exhaustion.
