Oh man, cold call scripts are such a minefield. I've been trying to get into more observational roles recently too, and it's brutal out there.
I've got three options I'm testing at the moment - would love your take on any of them.
option 1:
"Hi Mark, this is (X) from (Y). i just need a quick minute to understand if your company is still helping banks with credit risk and regulatory stuff - because we've got a group of banks coming together to chat about (Z) and wanted to see if it's relevant."
Option 2:
"Hi Mark, (X) from (Y). I saw that (A) works around banking risk, regulation, and financial analytics. We've got speakers from Deutsche Bank, UBS, Nordea and more lined up for a conference on that exact topic - just wanted a couple of minutes to fill you in."
Option 3:
"Hi Mark, (X) from (Y). Quick one - are external industry conferences or partnerships something your team is currently exploring from a marketing or relationship-building angle?"
Honestly, I'm leaning towards option 2 because it shows you've done the research and names actual banks - gives it some weight. option 3 feels a bit too vague for a cold call. but what do you reckon? Always curious how other people frame these.
