for those running conversion to messaging campaigns on Meta, I've got a question.
Just launched a fresh messaging campaign three days ago, and I'm already puzzling over retargeting. With web campaigns the pixel makes it easy - it tracks visitors, fires events, all that. But when traffic goes straight to DMs, how does retargeting really play out?
Does Meta automatically detect people who opened a conversation from the ad and then serve them more ads? or is retargeting way more limited in this setup?
I've got a website and pixel installed, but this campaign was 100% focused on messaging. my plan was to let it stabilise first, then activate web campaigns later.
Do you retarget from messaging campaigns, or do you prefer to combine them with traffic/web later to feed richer audiences? Honestly curious if I'm overcomplicating this or if there's a smarter sequence
