a recruiter pinged me on LinkedIn about a copywriting role. The message was fine, but no client name. I agreed to an intro call. She asked standard stuff about my experience, and I answered. When I asked who the client was, she said it's a local marketing agency that wants to stay anonymous until the next step. Unusual, but I let it go. then I get an email saying the client wants to interview me next week, and finally the agency name and the people I'd be meeting.
So i check them out. website reads like generic filler - could be any agency. No team page, no address, no client list. Social media is practically dead: Instagram has maybe a dozen followers with posts from two years ago, Facebook and LinkedIn even fewer. i can't find the 'Directors' on LinkedIn either, except one person who doesn't seem to work there. Whole thing feels sketchy.
Has anyone dealt with this? Should I still take the meeting or is it a waste of time?
