Tested Pinterest pretty seriously for about eight months with vintage and collectibles-board games on the side. It was... weird, honestly.
Traffic numbers looked decent enough, but conversion rates were garbage compared to other platforms. People would save pins like crazy, but actually buying? Different story. Reckon the mindset there is more about collecting ideas than making a purchase there and then.
What really threw me off was how seasonal everything performed. Board game pins would spike around the holidays and then completely die in the summer months. Had to basically plan the whole content strategy around those weird cycles.
Organic reach was better than Meta for sure, but the time investment to create all those pins and boards felt massive compared to what I got back. Promoted pins helped with reach but still had the same conversion problem.
Maybe it works better for impulse buys or lower price points, but for anything requiring real consideration it felt like the wrong platform.
