Honestly, the "just reply to big accounts" advice gets way too much credit. Sure, it can bump your impressions, but impressions don't pay rent. Who actually hits follow off a random comment under someone else's viral post?
What moved the needle for me was going narrow. Picking a clear niche and posting stuff people genuinely can't find elsewhere. In my case, that means sharing Smart Money Footprint data and real examples instead of the same recycled trading tips everyone shovels out.
And stop stressing over a couple hundred views early on. Keep posting, but watch which posts actually drive profile visits and follows, then double down on those topics. Replies get you seen. Your own content is what gives people a reason to stick around.
Two tricks that have worked well for me:
Add your competitors to a private list so you can quietly study their better-performing content. Also check the trending sidebar for hashtags related to your niche, jump into those conversations, and create something relatable around them. Works surprisingly well.
Around 7k followers after a year of doing this, for what it's worth.
