i launched a brand new domain for a ticket comparison site at 4AM this morning. By 8PM Google had already indexed 57 URLs. i'm still trying to figure out if that's standard or if i accidentally summoned some digital lightning.
steps? Bought the domain, moved it to Vercel (was already using their subdomain), chucked it in Search Console, submitted sitemaps, and that's it. main dashboard showed nothing all day. Out of curiosity i peeked at the HTTPS section and there they were - 57 URLs. manually inspected a few, all indexed. Even did a site: search to be sure.
Turns out the HTTPS section updates way faster than the main dashboard. Handy little trick if you're impatient like me.
Did all the technical SEO with help from a certain AI, because i knew squat. Apparently it worked. but here's the kicker - the site is still rough around the edges. frontend is a mess, plenty of dev to do. i figured I'd have time to polish before anything got indexed. Nope.
Now the real fun begins - actually ranking. that's the hard bit, right? No backlinks, no authority, yet Google decided to play nice. Probably because of the SSL certificate - they run one of the CT logs (Argon, Xenon). So they knew about the domain the second I enabled HTTPS. Sneaky, but useful.
Anyone else had a first-domain-indexing experience that fast? Or did i just get incredibly lucky?
