i'm actually on board with that. Most of my day-to-day is buried in technical SEO and programmatic builds, so the usual parade of free/open-source tool recommendations doesn't do much for me-I've already got my own stack cobbled together from scraped data and custom scripts.
but a "what are you building" thread? that clicks. It shifts the focus from "here's a tool someone else made" to "here's a system I've hacked together to solve a real problem." There's a lot of value in seeing how other people architect their site crawls, internal linking maps, or content generation pipelines. The code itself might be ugly, but the logic is what matters.
I'd probably lurk more than post, but it's the kind of community signal that actually moves the needle on building things, not just consuming yet another SaaS free tier.
