Honestly, i think X/Twitter might be one of the most overlooked acquisition channels for SaaS right now - and it's not even about having a massive following.
The real gold is that people are constantly shouting what they need in public. i started noticing tweets like 'can anyone recommend a tool for this?' or 'looking for a Shopify app that does X' and it completely shifted my view on outbound. cold email feels like you're barging in, on X, the user has already raised their hand. 🎯
What surprised me most was that the companies winning here aren't necessarily huge - they're just fast, helpful, and human. they reply quickly, sound normal, and offer value before trying to sell. i honestly think the bigger opportunity isn't content automation - it's discovery automation.
Over the last few months I've been experimenting with a system around this. I wanted multiple X accounts with different personalities and proxies, but the tooling is pretty disappointing. Chrome extensions are too easy for X to flag, and xreacher felt awkward once i dug deeper. finally testing another tool that seems more workable.
Current setup: 3 separate X accounts with distinct personalities (generated using Claude and ChatGPT). They monitor keywords, interact with posts, follow users, and gradually move into DMs.
I track: brand mentions, competitor mentions, and pain point phrases. also building intent expansion maps with Claude - for instance, if someone sells a cookie banner tool, there are dozens of adjacent phrases tied to the same compliance fear even if the wording is different. that part has been surprisingly powerful.
still early days, but I can already see how this turns into fully automated social prospecting agents. Curious if anyone else has gone down this rabbit hole? What tools or workflows are you using? 😊
