i love SEO, but I hate how everyone throws around "thin content" like it's a universal truth nobody can actually define. Been digging into this myself, and the definitions are all over the place: low word count, duplicate content, affiliate pages, auto-generated text, doorway pages. Pick your poison.
So here's my beef. if I just add more words to an article, does that magically make it better? And what's the magic number? Because I've seen 500-word pages rank just fine on strong domains, while my 2,000-word masterpiece sits in the abyss.
And the AI content thing is driving me nuts. everyone's using LLMs now, so duplication isn't really the issue. But people claim their AI pages rank well. How? Do you just link back to sources and do some internal linking, and suddenly it passes as human? I've tried that, and my content still reads like a robot having a stroke.
I'm looking for something objective here. Not the usual "it depends" hand-waving. How do you actually verify if a page is thin? And if you're using AI, what's the secret sauce to make it sound like a real person wrote it? Because right now, I feel like I'm chasing a ghost.
