My team's been struggling with cold email copy lately - my old templates are completely stale. Used to see 15-20% reply rates, now I'm lucky if I break 8%.
my best performer was dead simple: subject line just said 'quick question about [company]' and the body was three lines max. Basically just asked if they were the right person to talk to about X problem. Worked beautifully for about six months until everyone and their dog started using some version of it.
Now I'm testing more personalised angles but the research takes forever. Bounce rates are creeping up on my usual data sources. A couple of people in my network mentioned an alternative, so I'm looking into that. Anyone here manage to personalise at scale without spending twenty minutes per prospect?
My boss is on my back about pipeline numbers - I really need to sort this out soon.
Would love to see cold email examples that are actually working for others. Especially B2B SaaS or agency outreach if anyone's willing to share. Promise i won't copy word-for-word.
For context, seems like everyone's getting spammed now, so it's rough. I've heard putting the value proposition in the subject line works better these days - but only if it's specific. 'Increase revenue' won't cut it, but something like '+18% reply rate for SaaS SDR teams' might have legs
