Pinterest algorithm tanking my new pins

Over the past month, almost every new pin I've posted is sitting at zero views - or maybe five if I'm lucky. That includes pins that have actually gotten a click or a save. It's like Pinterest just stopped showing them to anyone.

I've been following best practices:

2 pins per day, posted late afternoon/evening EST
No duplicate images, ever
At least a week between submitting the same blog link
Titles and descriptions are keyword-rich and unique to each pin

No violations, no reports in my inbox. My older pins that already had traction are still getting a few clicks, but nowhere near what they used to.

Is this part of a larger algorithm update that's hitting a lot of people? Or is there something else I'm missing? Genuinely curious if anyone else is seeing the same drop-off.

How many pins have you actually put out there so far? I'd ditch every single one with zero impressions-they're just dead weight on your account, dragging everything down.

Think of it like a cold email list: you wouldn't keep sending to addresses that bounce or never open. Same principle here. Those zero-impression pins are signalling to the algorithm that your content isn't worth showing. Clear them out, focus on the ones that at least get a sniff, and see if the dust settles.

I've seen similar behaviour - roughly 50-70 pins over the past month on a non-new account. Lifetime stats are hazy, but pins that had existing traction are still pulling a handful of clicks, just nothing like before.

You're right about deleting being a no‑go in most cases, unless you're confident the content is genuinely duplicative or low-quality. Have you tried unpinning and re‑pinning the same image to a fresh board? I've had mixed results - sometimes it resets the algorithm's interest, other times it tanks the impression pool further.

What's your typical pin format? I'm seeing a sharp drop in reach on static images while video still seems to get through.
