I've seen bad cold emails, but this one takes the cake. it's somehow worse than the one I posted yesterday, and that was already a dumpster fire. Here's why this one earns a solid 0/10.

first, the email itself came with a red warning label from Gmail: "This message might be dangerous." I thought landing in spam was the worst fate for a cold email, but this is a whole new level. At this point, it doesn't matter if you have the best offer in the world-no prospect is going to read this, let alone click anything. It feels like opening a virus just by having it on my screen. People will delete it instantly.

Second, even ignoring that warning, the messaging is atrocious. No personalization-just a generic "Hello" instead of my name. then the sender opens with "My name is Matt"-as if I care who he is. He follows up with: "I'm thinking about starting a business where I help online businesses earn more money." Think about that. He's not running ads, managing cold email, or building funnels. He's just "thinking" about starting a business, and he doesn't even know what that business will do. it's like walking into a networking event and telling people you might start something someday, but you have no clue what. That's a hard pass from any serious prospect.

Third, the call to action is laughable. After Google flagged his infrastructure as dangerous, after he admitted he's only thinking about starting a business, after he showed he has no defined offering-he wants me to take 15 minutes of my time for a Zoom call. He wants a valuable business owner to help him understand my world. where's the value for me? There is none.

This is a textbook case of what happens when you rush into cold outreach without building a real foundation. The macro trend here is that spam filters are getting smarter, and prospects are getting more skeptical. If you can't even get the basics right-clean infrastructure, personalization, a clear offer-you're just burning leads and domain reputation. Learn from this, or don't bother sending cold emails at all.
